9/8

When Allison and I first asked Mr. Clinton about adding a Creative Writing III class, I thought he was going to say no. He seems to me like the kind of principal more focused on academic classes than electives. When he asked to see samples of our writing, I was shocked, and I didn't think he was actually going to read the samples we gave him. We gave them to him the next day, and then we didn't hear anything back from him, but when Mr. B asked him about the class, he said that it was going to be added.
I was so happy that I was going to be able to take a Creative Writing class my senior year. When Mr. B started sending out the applications, my excitement doubled.
And now that I'm actually in the class, I'm so glad that we went to Mr. Clinton. It's not like the first two levels, where there are prompts and specific projects for each genre. The third level is all about what each person wants as a writer. For instance, I am planning to focus on fiction, publishing options, and contests.
We're only two weeks in, and I know that this is going to be the best class of my high school career. I can't wait to see what the rest of the semester brings.

  1. I'm so pleased to get to work with you all this year! It's because of you that we have Creative Writing III! I'm excited to see what each of you creates this year--all of you have such diverse talents, and I KNOW amazing things will come out of this adventure!
